The “7x rule” for waves refers to the concept that a wave will typically break when its height is more than 1/7 of its wavelength. This means if a wave is 1 meter high, it will likely break if its length is less than 7 meters; this ratio is considered the point where a wave becomes too steep and unstable to maintain its form. The number 7 is quite significant in the Bible as well, appearing over 700 times throughout both the Old and New Testaments. In biblical numerology, 7 symbolizes completion or perfection. It is said that YHWH created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th.
In the context of perfection, Jesus spoke in a grouping of 7 when He was asked how we should pray (Matthew 6:9-13). In response, Jesus gave us the Lord’s Prayer, surely a perfect way to pray considering that the words came from Christ Himself! Notably, the Lord’s prayer contains 7 petitions.
Recently, I completed a 21-day fast and prayer session with my local church. I wanted to help people with their prayers and requests, so I asked YHWH how to pray effectively. I was brought back to Matthew 6:9-13, which taught me how to pray and fast. Not only did YHWH bring me back to this verse, but He showed me that I needed to keep my prayers and requests simple. He taught me how to pray the Lord’s prayer in Aramaic. The actual language that Jesus spoke. The prayer goes like this:
(Phonetic pronunciation)
Aboon Dbashmayo (Our Father who art in Heaven)
Nethcadash shmokh (hallowed be thy name).
teethe malkoothokh, (thy Kingdom come),
nehwe sebyonokh, (thy will be done)
aykano Dbashmayo off bar’o. (on earth as it is in heaven)
Hab lan lahmo dsoonconan yawmono, (Give us this day our daily bread).
washbook lan howbain wahtohain (and forgive us our trespasses)
aykano doff hnan shbakn il hayobain (as we forgive those who trespass against us)
lo thaalan il nessyoono (and lead us not into temptation)
elo fasson men beesho (but deliver us from evil)
metool ddeelokhee malkootho, (for thine is the kingdom)
ou haylo ou Teshbohto, (and the power, and the glory)
loalam olmen Amin. (forever and ever. Amen.)
So, I encourage everyone today who is truly suffering and cannot get over the hurdle of life to fully reach out to the Lord. Ask, Seek and Knock.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7- 8).
