SHARING THE GOOD NEWS WITH SURFERS FOR 35 YEARS
From our humble beginnings with Australian teenager Brett Davis in the 1970s to taking root in the U.S. in the 1980s, Christian Surfers (CS) serves as a bridge between the beach and the church. CS accomplishes this through local outreach ministries. Today, CS is the world’s largest surfing ministry. We have ministered to hundreds of thousands of surfers. Our affiliation with Christian Surfers International strengthens our ministry. Christian Surfers International is active in thirty-eight countries across six continents with two hundred local missions. Despite our growth, we aim to stay true to our original mission – ensuring that every surfer and every surfing community has an opportunity to know and follow Jesus Christ. There are millions of surfers across the globe, and we have only scratched the surface. Above all, we have seen CS’s ministry profoundly impact the lives of surfers for eternity. We are eager to continue our pursuit of “every surfer and every surfing community.” Christian Surfers is on the front lines of a spiritual battle, especially with our youth. Through CS, we encounter many who struggle with drugs, violence, depression, bullying, and suicide, which is common in surf culture. CS models another way to live, the way, as surfers come to the crossroads of life and death. Furthermore, we offer a spiritual family to those who have never known community.
