OUR ROOTS

Our roots were planted in the 1970s, and still shape who we are today.

From our humble beginnings with Australian teenager Brett Davis in the 1970s to taking root in the U.S. in the 1980s, Christian Surfers (CS) serves as a bridge between the beach and the church. CS accomplishes this through various local outreach ministries.

Christian Surfers is the largest surf ministry in the world.

Over the past five decades, we have ministered to hundreds of thousands of surfers across the globe. Our affiliation with Christian Surfers International (CSI) continues to strengthen our ministry.

Christian Surfers (U.S. and International) is active in 38 countries across six continents with 200 local missions.

Through our growth, we aim to stay true to our original mission – ensuring that “every surfer and every surfing community has an opportunity to know and follow Jesus.” There are millions of surfers across the globe, and we have only scratched the surface.

The United States has the largest population of surfers in the world.

Above all, we have seen CS’s ministry profoundly impact the lives of surfers for eternity. We are eager to continue our pursuit of “every surfer and every surfing community” as we expand our reach.

Christian Surfers is on the front lines of a spiritual battle, especially with our youth. Through Christian Surfers, we encounter many who struggle with drugs, violence, depression, bullying and suicide, which is common in surf culture. Christian Surfers models another way to live – the way, as surfers come to the crossroads of life and death. Furthermore, we offer a spiritual family to those who have never known community.

Partner with us as we aim to reach every surfer and surfing community in the U.S. and globally.
